As I browsed through my photo files this weekend, I realized that so many of the pictures I have are of small moments, or what I might call “mini memories”.
This is my son, taking a nap in the middle of the day. We switched his medication a few weeks ago and it has made him sleepier than usual. On this particular day, he couldn’t keep his eyes open any longer and went in and crashed on my unmade bed. He slept for 2 hours.
There are always books sitting around my house. My son is an avid reader (to put it lightly) and it’s fun to see what he is currently studying. Trivia and informational books are favorites.
My daughter wanted to carve pumpkins this year and I kept putting it off because I was too busy. She decided to take matters into her own hands and she used a carving kit I had purchased to do all of the work on her own. The pumpkins turned out great!
I bought a dozen doughnuts on Halloween and we gave them to a friend and his children. I love that my kids were excited to do that and they didn’t complain at all about giving these away.
We had a great time at the pumpkin patch this year. My daughter was so excited to buy a white pumpkin. It was almost too heavy for us to lift, but she was determined that we should have it. I’m still enjoying it on our front porch. I love unusual pumpkins!
I’ve been guilty of not doing much for holiday decorating, but last year I changed my ways and at least put out a few things on our porch for Halloween. I decided to go all out this year by adding some lit Halloween trees. My daughter was thrilled! My husband gave me that look that says “where are we going to store these things and why do we need them?” I have no good answers, but our porch did look really neat!
These aren’t big moments in our life, just mini memories that all add up to something special. Take a stroll through your photo files today and jot down a few of your own thoughts. It’s a great activity on a Memory Monday!
