What books and/or magazines did I read this month?
I’ve been reading books like this one
because we now have a garden! I had this fabulous raised bed garden built in our backyard. Now I just need to get busy planning & planting! I haven’t had a garden in about 10 years (and I wasn’t that successful at it back then) so this is a whole new adventure for me. I’ll definitely be getting some New52s out of this experience!
.
What movies, television shows, plays, etc. did I watch this month?

For some reason, I decided to start watching Cheers on instant Netflix. I decided to just start at the beginning and go through the series. I watched a lot of the episodes when I was a teenager/young adult, but there are also many that I missed. It’s been fun so far. The funny thing is that when I mentioned this to my Mom, she said she had just started doing the same thing! lol!
Survivor is still a big deal around here – we are way into the Redemption Island season! We usually watch it on Friday nights (we record the show on TiVo) and it’s a family event. We are also happy that Mythbusters has started up again with new episodes.

What fun things did I do with my family and/or friends
We spent the last few hours of March and the first few days of April visiting my family in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Here’s a picture of the 4 of us together (keeping up with my project of the year of 4 people x 12 times)
We drove to Provo to see the Carl Bloch exhibit (which was amazing!)
Easter Sunday wasn’t anything too exciting around here. I did at least buy some new dresses for my daughter. The Easter Bunny brought itunes gift cards and Reese’s peanut butter cups for the teenagers in the house.
My hubby had a meeting in Las Vegas so we decided to make a quick vacation out of the opportunity. We spent 2 days in Vegas at the end of the month. We even rode the gondolas at The Venetian.
We also got to see the Blue Man Group perform live. So fun!
.
What gifts did I give and/or receive?
We went out to dinner to celebrate my Father-in-Law’s birthday and we gave him an iPhone App store gift card since he just got an iPhone.
.
What special or unusual purchases did I make?
Garden beds and a bunch of dirt. Finishing up the redo of my daughter’s bedroom. I will post pictures soon.
.
What illnesses or health concerns did I have?
We had a crazy windstorm here on April 21st (strongest wind I’ve ever experienced!) It was garbage day and our garbage cans were actually flying down the street. When I went out to rescue them, I was grateful that my neighbor’s teenage son had caught one of them. He handed it back to me and I turned it the wrong way. A giant gust of wind blew the lid right up onto my face and it smacked me hard. I even saw stars! I was worried I had a broken nose, but it was just bruised. I also had a slightly fat lip. Dumb! My face hurt for about 5 days after that.
I’ve been doing great on sticking to my new plan of eating healthy. I’m focusing on the principles in the Flat Belly Diet books and also avoiding all high-fructose corn syrup. I’m also trying to eat foods that I can pronounce all of the ingredients – avoiding chemicals and crazy additives.
.
What were my accomplishments this month?
I continued on with my 11 months of holiday prep plans. I got caught up on blogging the New52 project I’m participating in.
As far as my other important projects for this year… I’ve been doing regular Memory Mondays, doing my roundups, and even making sure we get a picture of the 4 of us each month.
I was a guest each week on the Paperclipping Digi Show podcast and registration is still open for my upcoming Big Picture workshop on Power Scrapping – Digi Style! I was also invited to host a challenge at Big Picture on National Scrapbook Day. Good stuff!
.
Anything else noteworthy to include?
Digi layouts from April (each one is linked to where it appeared online).

Feels good to get my roundup done!

P.S. the font I used for the roundup titles is shadowed serif available for free on dafont.com.
