Lately I have realized that I hardly ever share scrapbook pages on this blog anymore which is kind of silly for a “Scrapbook Lady” blog! Most of the layouts I create these days are shared on The Daily Digi blog for Digi Files spotlights and to illustrate the articles I write. Sometimes I also create layouts for the Shabby Princess because I’m a creative team member there. Those layouts get featured on The Shabby Shoppe blog. This is one of the layouts that was done for the Shabby Princess.

journaling reads:
You’ve been a little sweetheart from the very beginning. I love watching you change and grow over the years. What a privilege is it to be your Mom and to get to experience the many stages of your life. You were a sweet baby who was full of love and smiles. Your toddler and preschool years were brimming with creative curiosity and energy. As you’ve matured, you have developed such a compassion and kindness toward others. Now you are a young lady and you are trying to figure out your place in the world. I assure you regularly, that all teenagers feel lost sometimes. Everyone goes through emotional and physical growing pains. I had them myself. But I’m not worried about you. You have your head on straight. You always have. You are, and always will be, a total sweetheart. – February 2011

I LOVE creating layouts for both The Daily Digi and The Shabby Shoppe. I’m also having a great time creating layouts for an upcoming Big Picture workshop. (I’ll keep you updated!) But with all that I have going on, I have somehow lost the habit of sharing layouts here. I don’t want to be redundant with what is posted on other sites, so I generally don’t share those layouts here unless it is something like the layout above (that was only shown as part of a collage of layouts on The Shabby Shoppe blog).
I guess what is missing for me lately, is simply scrapping layouts without an assignment. Don’t get me wrong, I love having deadlines and topics to scrap because it keeps me going creatively, I just need to get back into the practice of scrapping because that’s what I feel like doing. I also want to share more layouts here. But, I’m crazy-busy right now with lots of good stuff + homeschooling my two teenagers. There just isn’t a lot of time for extra pages right now. I really can’t complain because I’m getting a lot of layouts done all the time, but it still makes me rethink things a bit.
Right now, scrapbooking (digi scrapping) is such a big part of my life. I’m teaching others how to do it through teaching and podcasting. I’m blogging about scrapbooking all the time here. It is constantly on my mind. I just want to be sure I’m on track with what I want to be creating. It’s a good idea to evaluate that from time to time.
How about you? How is your creative time going? How do you manage it all? Feel free to share in the comments if you want to. I’d love to know!
