I love to get my roundup done, it's a great way to recap the past month and it helps me feel ready to face the new month of memories to come! October was a very busy month in my life, but also one of my most productive. Interesting!
Here's what my October of 2010 was all about:
.
What books and/or magazines did I read this month?
I read Scrapbook Page Maps 2 and really enjoyed it. I also read FACES a book on portrait photography that I found very interesting, Lots of ideas to try.
.
What movies, television shows, plays, etc. did I watch this month?
Hubby and I finally got caught up on Burn Notice. Now we can’t wait for the new season to start in November. It’s a great show!
Now we are working on getting caught up on Covert Affairs. We like watching spy shows together.
.
What fun things did I do with my family and/or friends?
My son turned 17 years old. That still amazes me. We celebrated by going out for steak at Sizzler (one of his favorites!) We spent 6 days on vacation with my hubby’s family in West Yellowstone. The scenery there was just amazing and the weather was nearly perfect. We played our “Five for the Drive” music game on the way to Yellowstone which made the car trip a lot more fun.
My daughter dressed up as The Swedish Chef (from the Muppets) for Halloween. I think she looked great! We were a little surprised though at how many people do not know who the Swedish Chef is!
This is the Swedish Chef
This is my daughter dressed as the Swedish Chef. See the resemblance? I think she looks great! (even with a mustache – lol!)
and of course we passed out Swedish Fish to the trick-or-treaters!
.
What gifts did I give and/or receive?
We gave our son some board games, video games, and some Neopets gift cards for his birthday.
.
What illnesses or health concerns did I have?
I finally got a mammogram done and I passed with flying colors. Yay! Somehow I avoided the nasty stomach flu bug that went around our entire extended family while we were all in Yellowstone. I have no idea how I managed that! I will say that I got to witness some pretty yucky stuff though when my kids got it. Ewww!.
.
What were my accomplishments this month?
I actually decorated my front porch for Halloween for the first time in years. I made butter – seriously, I really did! I got my kids through all the homeschool work early enough that we even had 2 days off at the end of the month. That is the first time we’ve ever been able to do that!
.
Anything else noteworthy to include
Here are the layouts I completed in October. I set an all-time record for myself with amount of pages I got done – 65 layouts! Each image is linked to the original blog post from either my own blog here, The Shabby Shoppe blog, or The Daily Digi if you want to see credits or details for each creation.
plus 9 more layouts not pictured here.
What a month!
