Welcome to “Great Gift Giving” week here on the Scrapbook Lady blog! If you’ve been around here before, you know that I love to gift gifts and one of my favorite things is to share all my ideas and finds with my readers. I have so many gift giving ideas to tell you about this year, I thought I would devote an entire theme week to the topic. So fun! If you are looking for the cute holiday presents graphic I found it at at Lettering Delights under the search terms “present time”. The font is LD Pookie (one of my favorites!) which is also from at Lettering Delights.

Today’s post is all about making gifts out of memories, which is pretty much my most favorite kind of gift to make and to receive! I guess that’s why I’m a Scrapbook Lady. lol!
Of course I’m going to put giving scrapbook pages and albums right at the top of my list. This is a gift I’ve been giving for a long time, and will continue to do for many years to come. When I was a paper scrapper, I would make additional sets of pages each year to put in ongoing grandparent albums. I would give them a new album every few years when I had filled an entire one, so some years the gift included an album, other times it was just a set of pages. Now that I’m a digital scrapbooker, I use the same approach only I can just print out duplicates of pages I have already made. So much faster! Yay for digi! I discuss my process of creating gift pages in episode 23 of the Paperclipping Digi Show podcast all about holiday gifts.
These are the albums I use and I like to really fill them up! I prefer the linen post bound 8x8, but they also come other varieties and a 12x12 size and with the option of a ring binding instead of posts.

Sometimes I like to give a photobook as a gift and this is probably the best option if you aren’t planning to do a really big album or give pages on a repeat basis. I’ve been really happy with the Shutterfly albums I’ve made. I’m also working on an album using lulu.com right now that I will share here very soon. I’m very excited about it!
Here are some of my past photobook projects that would make great gifts:
Hello Baby photobooks - Ali Edwards style
.
Celebrate Everyday Life album by Ali Edwards
.
Inspired by Color Mosaic Album – my self-paced project class at Big Picture
.
I also love other gifts that involve using photographs. Here are some fun ideas:
Photo calendars from lulu.com – You can use their format or use your own digitally created calendar images.
.
Steph at The Daily Digi has a great post about calendars that features oodles of 2011 calendars to create. Hard to choose just one! I do love Liz Tamanaha’s (Paislee Press) DIY calendar though. You might recognize it from my “coming this month” posts I’ve done throughout the year.
.
I also love just adding some word art or a simple frame to a photo to print and give as a gift. You can frame it, or add it to a digital frame file. Find ideas in the Write on Your Photos article I wrote for The Daily Digi.

I absolutely LOVE these magnets from Something Blue Studios! They are not your typical magnets – they are very sturdy and are a great way to showcase photos and even miniature versions of scrapbook pages. I’ve ordered these several times (see some past examples) and always been happy with them!
.
Of course you can create a lot of other gifts with photos such as puzzles, mugs, jewelry, and more. The nice thing about putting memories into gift form is that no one else can duplicate it. They are truly one-of-a-kind gifts of love!
