my son in September of 2009
.
I looked over my September 2009 roundup and my blog archives for that month to see what I was doing at this time last year. I also browsed through my photos from that time period. I like to do that occasionally, it’s a great exercise for a memory keeper. Helps you realize where you’ve been and how much your life changes over the course of a year.
Nothing too drastic has happened in my life since last September (thank goodness!). I still live in the same house, my husband has the same job, we are all healthy and happy. Who could ask for more? I realize that we are lucky this way. Lots of people I know have lost jobs, moved, or even lost someone important in their life in that time.
My life has changed quite a bit though, even while staying very much the same. Last year at the time I had no idea that Janet would be leaving The Daily Digi and that Steph would be taking over. I had no idea what a big part of my life that site would become. I never expected to have a class at Big Picture Scrapbooking. I had never even heard of a podcast and now I’ve been on one 4 different times (episodes 1, 5, 8, 15). I ordered an iphone last September. I didn’t send text messages before that. I rarely used a cell phone. Now I use my phone all the time, especially to text my hubby. I just got an ipad a few days ago. A whole new world is opening up to me again because of that.
Of course some things are still the same. I still homeschool my kids, I still need to lose weight, I still work too much and play too little. I also still have a good life, filled with wonderful people.
I’m sure that I’ve learned more in the last year than I have in any previous year. That’s a good thing. You know what else is good? Last year when I took the picture of my son holding the “I am happy” sign, I thought to myself that I AM happy. I still feel that way. I do believe that I’m even happier now.

What was your life like a year ago? How does it compare to where you are now? What has changed over the last year in your life? What has stayed the same? All interesting things to think about on a Memory Monday!
