Feels so good to get my roundup done, it's a great way to recap the past month and it helps me feel ready to face the new month of memories to come! Can you believe I’ve been doing these monthly “roundups” since January of 2006? That’s 53 consecutive roundups!
Here's what my May of 2010 was all about:
What books and/or magazines did I read this month?
Because May was the last month of our homeschool year, I think everything I read (off of the computer) had to do with homeschool. I can’t wait to read some books just for pleasure this summer!
What movies, television shows, plays, etc. did I watch this month?
The last few episodes of LOST and the LOST finale (which I just loved!) and the Survivor finale which was sort of anti-climatic, but we enjoyed watching the season. One of the reasons it was disappointing is because we were watching Season 7 of Survivor (Pearl Islands) from Netflix and really enjoying it, but they spoiled the winner for that one (and every other season!) during the broadcast of the finale for this season. We watched the most amazing episode of Mythbusters where they built the most incredible waterslide. One of our favorite episodes ever! Sadly, my beloved Utah Jazz tanked against the Lakers in the playoffs. I quit watching basketball after that.
We saw Prince of Persia in the theater. Not an Oscar winner for sure, but a fun summer popcorn flick.
What fun things did I do with my family and/or friends?
Went on a quick overnight trip to Park City, Utah. Went to a black tie dinner with my Hubby, his parents, and some of his co-workers. Hubby and I went out to dinner with some friends at a nice sushi restaurant. We also took a young newlywed couple out to dinner at Tuscany. I helped teach a class on digital scrapbooking at the Casual Blogger Conference with Steph from The Daily Digi. We had fun hanging out at the conference and even got to go out to dinner together. We totally talked “business” almost the whole time, which is fun for us! lol!
What gifts did I give and/or receive?
Gave my nephew a Prince of Persia Lego set for his 7th birthday. Bought one for myself also. lol! Gave my Mother-in-law a Lodge Color dutch oven pan as a birthday/mother’s day gift. Took dinner in to a few different families going through some medical struggles.
What special or unusual purchases did I make?
A whole lot of digi goodies on National Scrapbooking Day weekend! If you follow me on twitter or facebook, you saw the damage I did! A new dishwasher and stove to go with my new fridge. SO nice to have new appliances!
What illnesses or health concerns did I have?
The whole finger thing still. I’m tired of blogging about it. I’m sure you all must be tired of reading about it. It’s not healing very well. I’m now going to physical therapy 2 times a week and really working on it at home as well.
What were my accomplishments this month?
Documented an entire week of my life. Really proud of myself for actually completing Ali’s challenge. Now, I just need to put it together in book form. Had a layout and small interview published in the Salt Lake Tribune. Lots of blogging here and at The Daily Digi (see my list of articles here), despite my hand recovery issues.
What were my disappointments this month?
Found out my blog feed was down for 3 weeks and some readers thought I had quit blogging. Sorry about that! It’s all fixed now.
How did I do on my goals for the month? (Or any current short or long term goals)
I guess I just kept going in all the areas of my goals. That’s something to be happy about.
Anything else noteworthy to include
Here are the layouts I completed in May. Each image is linked to the original blog post from either my own blog here, or The Daily Digi if you want to see credits or details for each creation
Have you done your roundup yet? Don't wait too long! You will be so glad you took the time to roundup your month!
