I love getting my roundup done, it's a great way to recap the past month and it helps me feel ready to face the new month of memories to come!
Here's what my January was all about:
1. What books and/or magazines did I read this month?
Artful blogging magazine, Pioneer Woman Cooks, class materials for Your Life Through the Lens by Katrina Kennedy, oodles of homeschool readings online and from textbooks, and about 230 blogs. Seriously, I read a lot of blogs!
2. What movies, television shows, plays, etc. did I watch this month?
A few Utah Jazz basketball games, some Disney Channel shows, and Burn Notice. Of course I watched a lot of Friends reruns as well. I always do. I didn't watch or go to any movies, which is sort of unusual for me. Not that I watch a lot of movies, but I usually end up seeing at least 1 in a month.
3. What fun things did I do with my family and/or friends?
January was sort of a dull month due to yucky weather and a very busy husband. We just barely got through the month it seems. We did celebrate my cute nieces' 4th birthday at a family party, and we also tended the same nieces and my nephew one evening in January. My husband and I went to a Jazz game with some business associates of his. I also got to take a photography class at Highlite photography which was a lot of fun and very educational.
4. What gifts did I give and/or receive?
Gave my Mom a gift certificate for her birthday. Gave my nieces Little Pet Shops sets (which they loved). I also took dinner in to 2 different neighbors of mine who both had baby girls a few days apart.
5.What special or unusual purchases did I make?
I spent my Christmas money on a new serger and a new point and shoot camera. I purchased some cute valentine plates at Target. I bought some picture frames for our family photos (haven't hung them yet) and a desk set at IKEA to use as a sewing table (haven't put it together yet). The desk looks like this except that I did a storage cupboard on one side instead of drawers. I bought a new bookcase for my son's room for him to display his Bionicle collection on, and I actually got that project built and finished!
6. What illnesses or health concerns did I have?
Pretty healthy all month. I had an upset tummy one day because I forgot that orange juice makes me sick and made a smoothie with it. I got a really bad sinus headache on the last day of the month and now I'm fighting off a sinus infection. My finger is still giving me a lot of problems though. Not happy about that!
I had my yearly exam and all went well there. Also took my kids to the orthodontist, which is always an adventure. LOL!
7.What were my accomplishments this month?
More blogging than I thought was humanly possible. :) I blogged every day here on the Scrapbook Lady blog and also 13 days on The Daily Digi blog. I even posted regularly on my family blog. I also scanned and/or organized several hundred photos. I completed 21 digital layouts, designed 2 free templates, and also made 7 different cards from digital supplies. Tons of homeschooling, cleaning, organizing, laundry, and even quite a bit of cooking. I tried several new recipes from the internet and from Pioneer Woman Cooks cookbook. I even got on the treadmill a few times. Holy Cow!
8. What were my disappointments this month?
The weather was a major disappointment! I'm pretty sure I had some seasonally caused depression because of it. It looked like this almost the entire month:
9. How did I do on my goals for the month? (Or any current short or long term goals)
I'm working on the word "DO" this year and I have several things I want to be doing. I feel like I really worked on almost everything on my list with the exception of #7. Also, need to try a little harder on #2, but I did exercise and I did improve my eating habits.
10. Anything else noteworthy to include
