Feels so good to get my roundup done, it's a great way to recap the past month and it helps me feel ready to face the new month of memories to come!
Here's what my February was all about:
1. What books and/or magazines did I read this month?
Martha Stewart Living Magazine, Real Simple Magazine, and homeschool stuff galore!
2. What movies, television shows, plays, etc. did I watch this month?
So happy that LOST came back on this month! And if you are a fellow LOSTIE, be sure to check out LOST Untangled each week - hilarious! We also watched a few Utah Jazz basketball games, some Disney Channel shows, and Burn Notice. We watched This Is It as a family and I was surprised at how interesting it was. Made me feel bad for all those talented dancers who never got to perform the big shows they were practicing so hard for. We got a new blue-ray player and 2 blue-ray discs (Star Trek and Independence Day) so we watched those as well.
3. What fun things did I do with my family and/or friends?
February was a much better month for me after such a gloomy January. The weather was a lot better and we even had some blue skies at times. We watched the Super Bowl and ate lots of snacks (my favorite part). We went out to lunch at The Original Pancake House one day with hubby's family to celebrate my SIL's birthday. We had another dream night Utah Jazz game where we had courtside tickets (courtesy of a business associate/friend), and I went to a Valentine dance with my hubby.
4. What gifts did I give and/or receive?
I gave my SIL in a cute fish vase which I linked to on last month's roundup. I gave my son a bionicle and my daughter some Littlest Pet Shops for Valentine's Day. Hubby and don't exchange Valentine gifts (and we are both fine with that).
5.What special or unusual purchases did I make?
40 toothbrushes and 20 bars of soap to donate to a Haiti hygiene kits service project. I also bought a few charity digital kits in support of Haiti.
6. What illnesses or health concerns did I have?
Mostly healthy all month. I did have to have an emergency root canal because all of a sudden my tooth felt like it was going to implode in my head. The dentist was sure it must be infected, but it looked ok. The problem area was just right on a nerve and it got inflamed and very painful. My finger is still giving me some problems, but toward the end of the month I feel like it finally started to improve. I've even been off of advil now for about a week which seems like a minor miracle to me since I've been taking it almost non-stop since August of last year.
No orthodontist appointments in February for my kids (rare!) but they did have their semi-annual dental checkups. No cavities for either of them and fairly smooth appointments overall.
7.What were my accomplishments this month?
I practiced some photography skills, made my first annual "State of the Scrapbook Lady" report :) and worked really hard on getting my photos organized. I spent most of the month making my kids do this:
We really had a TON of homeschool work this month! We use a virtual academy so I do not control the amount of work we have to do. My son is in the high school program and it is pretty intense.
I taught a very basic cake decorating class to 10 teenage girls, coordinated a funeral luncheon for a neighbor/friend, attended a funeral for a friend's father, attended 3 days of state testing with my son (required for homeschool), took in a meal to a neighbor who had surgery, had a neighbor over for dinner, and also hosted a dinner party for 18 people.
I also put together a desk system for IKEA to use as a sewing center. Go me!
I blogged every day here (although it was really tough a few days to get it done) and blogged 10 days at The Daily Digi (see my article list here). I created 20 digital scrapbook layouts and 4 digital scrapbook valentines (and a template). I even survived my hubby being out of town 2 different times in the month.
8. What were my disappointments this month?
Being exhausted almost all month - but now that I read my list of accomplishments, I think I understand why!
9. How did I do on my goals for the month? (Or any current short or long term goals)
I'm working on the word "DO" this year and I have several things I want to be doing. I feel like I really worked on almost everything on my list. Also, need to try harder on #2, but I did exercise a little bit.
10. Anything else noteworthy to include
Each image is linked to the original blog post from either my own blog here, or The Daily Digi if you want to see credits or details for each creation.
I'm now looking forward to March which is one of my favorite months since I have a birthday and a wedding anniversary coming up!
Have you done your roundup yet? Don't wait too long! You will be so glad you took the time to roundup your month!
