If you are getting ready for Super Bowl Sunday, you will find some fun ideas here!
My kids love to watch football with their Dad. They don't really watch it unless he is there. Honestly, watching football bores me to tears, but I'm always up for a good reason to have a celebration! For me the Super Bowl is all about the snacks and hanging out with my family, so it is usually the perfect excuse for me to set up scrapbooking camp in the family room. This year I plan to have my laptop nearby to work on photo editing and digital scrapbooking while the game is on. I'll be watching the commercials though. lol! And of course I will be feeding the troops to keep their energy up for the big game!
Whether or not you're a fan, I have some fun links and ideas to share with you to make your Super Bowl Sunday (or any sports related holiday or party) fun and memorable:
Scrapbook Lady Says...
- If you are having a get together, invite your guests to wear football related apparel or team colors. In 2003 when the Buccaneers played the Raiders, we hosted a "Pirate" themed Super Bowl party and everyone came dressed as Pirates. It was a blast!
- Take pictures of people watching the game. Capture the emotion of a missed pass or a scored field goal. But, don't get in the way of the television or you will probably be banned from picture taking!
- If no one wants to be bothered during the game, consider a before game photo shoot as guests arrive. Some of my favorite photos are of my hubby and daughter dressed in their Steelers gear at a local high school football field. (See above picture)
- Have everyone write down their predictions for the big game and offer a fun treat to the person who has the closest guess.
- If you don't know much about football, take some time to learn the basics of the game and you might enjoy it!
- Decorate your food table with team colors or like a football field.
- Set out some other entertainment for young children or less than enthusiastic football fans. Finger football is fun, easy, and free. We always get out our classic electronic football game to play with during slow times.
