If you aren't familiar with the one little word idea from Ali Edwards, be sure to visit her blog for more information. She started this inspirational project back in 2007. I tried to do a different word each month that year, which turned out to be a crazy idea. I never really focused in on any of them.
- 2008 - Create - This word inspired me throughout the year and I really worked on creating as a digital designer, a scrapbooker, and as a homemaker.
- 2009 - Learn - I really embraced this word all year long. I learned soooo much that I'm not even sure how to summarize the experience I had with this word. Not only did I learn along with my children as their homeschool coach, but I took several online classes for myself as well. I did tutorials, read instructions, watched educational shows, and did whatever I could to learn more throughout the year. Now that I have gathered so much information and knowledge, I really need to focus on implementing it all. What I really need to work on is the "doing" part of things. So I think you can guess what is coming for this year...
- 2010 - Do - a small and simple word that is straight to the point. I love that it builds on what my words have been for the past few years. I have embraced my creativity. I have learned a lot. Now I need to "DO" those things!
I love the tradition of picking a new word each year. Last year I invited my hubby and kids to join in and pick their own word. It's funny that my daughter wanted to pick a lot of words throughout the year. I guess she gets that from me. LOL! I'm trying to help her learn from my experience. They have all settled in on their own "one little word" for 2010 now so I'm excited to see how they use them in their own lives. I really want to do something special for each of us to help us remember our word and focus on it. Ali always shares a lot of great ideas in this department so I will be watching her blog. I'm sure I will be scrapping about my word as well. That really helped me last year and I even pinned the layout up on my bulletin board where I could see it every day. Here it is:
I feel like I need a few more weeks to think about my new word before I'm ready to make a layout for it. I want to decide on some of the specific things that I want to do this year and then find a way to visually represent them on a page.
