I never really feel like I can fully embrace the new month until I've rounded up the old one. It is time to put November 2009 to bed so here is my roundup:
What books and/or magazines did I read this month?
I read homeschool assignments, online class materials, blog posts, online news, and even some magazines, and even a book. Only one book, but at least it is better than I did last month! I read this book because I recommended it to my daughter. I remembered that I enjoyed it when I was young so I decided to reread it.
What movies, television shows, plays, etc. did I watch this month?
Hubby and I enjoyed watching Burn Notice on DVD. We are now caught up to the end of Season 2 so we will have to check out itunes to catch Season 3 since it isn't out on DVD yet. Watched a ton of Food Network on tv. We watched Paul McCartney's special concert on Thanksgiving night. My kids loved it and were thrilled to see one of the Beatles perform. One of the best things I saw all month was this hilarious Muppets video on You Tube. Seriously, it rocks!
What fun things did I do with my family and/or friends?
I hosted a Martha Stewart craft party for some of my friends. So much fun!
Visited my family in New Mexico. It was the first time we have ALL been together since September of 2007. My youngest brother returned from serving a mission in California, he was working with the Hmong people in Fresno. It was a wonderful experience for him! Here's a picture of my 2 brothers playing Monopoly with my kids.
Ate Thanksgiving dinner at my in-law's house. It was very tasty!
I met Steph from The Daily Digi. So nice to meet her in person and we had a great time together planning so many cool things.
Went to a Jazz game with my hubby and kids. We also ran into a friend from high school there. Fun night, the Jazz won and my son's dancing moves got us all up on the Jumbotron! Hubby sat next to a very dedicated Jazz fan, even his hair was blue!
Of course, we all wore our jerseys too.
We also went to a really fun surprise birthday party for a friend who turned 40,
What gifts did I give and/or receive?
Can't think of anything.
What special or unusual purchases did I make?
Bought a Painted Pony in New Mexico for our collection.
I shopped like a maniac on Digital Scrapbooking Day and Black Friday. If you followed my tweets, you know I speak the truth. LOL! I ordered a few Shutterfly albums which I will blog about soon. I also bought some shoes, and a coat on Cyber Monday and did a little online Christmas shopping.
We also had a window replaced (it cracked because our house settled), and all of our windows professionally cleaned. We finally got our office hardwood floor professionally polished and a crack in it repaired. No fun to spend money on that kind of stuff!
What illnesses or health concerns did I have?
I had hand surgery on November 17th because of my ongoing problems with my tendons in my left index finger. I had to have some tendons cut because my finger has been locked up for about 2 months. It is all very strange. I even have to do physical therapy exercises on my hand for 6 weeks. My hand is going to be buff when I'm done though! LOL
Here's my sad and swollen finger and hand. My index finger was really fat from all the swelling. I decided not to take pictures of the scar. You're welcome. :)
What were my accomplishments this month?
Wrote a giant post about flickr, blogged every day, and also posted several articles on The Daily Digi. Big writing month for me which is kind of amazing since I have had so many struggles with my hand (see above). Of course I did almost all of it before I had the hand surgery, which was a good thing since the recovery was a little harder than I thought it would be.
The articles I wrote for The Daily Digi were Part 1 of pre-planning digital pages and Part 2 of pre-planning digital pages, The Portable Digi Scrapper, and Digi Scrapping Your Recipes.
I completed 14 layouts. Each image is linked to the original blog post from either my own blog here, or The Daily Digi if you want to see credits or details. I also pre-planned about 28 digital pages which means I scrapped the foundation for them. See my Daily Digi article linked above.
Feeling good that November is done and accounted for. Have you done your roundup?
