Last year I ran into a blog post on photochallenge.org that changed my whole notion of what is beautiful. While I can't find the specific post to link up to, the general idea was to challenge photographers to take photographs of entropy. What is entropy? For this particular assignment it means to look for decay, rust, decomposing, or anything that is heading toward a state of disrepair. It is the natural process of things wearing out. Some artists and photographers refer to this as "Ugly Beautiful".
It sure makes for some fun photography! I've posted these pictures before on my blog back in April of 2008, but I thought you might enjoy seeing a layout I created with them.
