Some months I get my roundup done early and other months it is more of a challenge. I'm always glad when I get it done though because I know I've done something important that helps me keep better records and that helps me be a better memory keeper.
What books and/or magazines did I read this month?
I have a HUGE pile of books to read on my nightstand. I spent the month drowning in homeschool reading. I did find time to squeeze in one book by Greg Iles that was pretty good. It reminded me of some of John Grisham's early novels.
What movies, television shows, plays, etc. did I watch this month?
Hubby and I enjoyed watching Burn Notice on DVD and we also had fun watching Royal Pains on USA. It's been awhile since we've had a show to watch together so it was great to actually find 2 that we enjoyed.
What fun things did I do with my family and/or friends?
It seems like we partied all month long in September! We took a trip to Albuquerque, New Mexico to see my parents and brother. Then my parents took a trip to Utah to visit us. It has been more than 5 years since I've seen my parents 2 times in one month! Our entire month was full of activities. We went to a Mexican food market, a children's museum, the Bingham Copper Mine, Gardner Village, IKEA, an Eagle Scout Court of Honor, a family photo session and dinner, and hosted a birthday party for my daughter. Hubby and I also spent an evening with some friends in Ophir, Utah at a beautiful cabin.
What gifts did I give and/or receive?
We gave a grocery store gift certificate to a family who has faced a lot of medical challenges lately. We gave money to a friend's son who just left to serve a mission. I also took dinner to a neighbor who had an accident and broke a few vertebrae.
What special or unusual purchases did I make?
Expensive month for us! Braces for both kids, birthday party and presents for my daughter, and an iphone for me. I've had so much fun with my iphone and it has been a lifesaver on emails since I've had such a hard time typing on a keyboard with my splinted finger.
Photos taken with my iphone (and edited with Best Camera app)
What illnesses or health concerns did I have?
My left index finger starting hurting at the beginning of the month and progressively got worse throughout the month. I ended up having it x-rayed (not broken) and I've had it in a splint for about 2 weeks now with no improvement at all. I'm going to have to go see a specialist. I've had a very hard time typing all month because of this.
What were my accomplishments this month?
I made it through a very busy month! I had an article published in the MSA Flourish newsletter, an article on the Daily Digi about Twitter, and our homeschool studio was featured on both Unclutterer and Apartment Therapy!
I completed 18 digital scrapbook layouts in September
Have you done your roundup yet? You don't have to include pictures and links like I have, just take a few minutes to look over the past month and jot down a few details. You will be so glad you did!
