What books and/or magazines did I read this month?
I didn't do a lot of reading this month which is a bit unusual for me. I did order this new cookbook and although I haven't tried any of the recipes yet, I have thoroughly enjoyed reading the stories that were included in the text. The recipes look really tasty as well.
I also read Scott Kelby's new digital photography book which is just as fabulous as the first 2 that he wrote. If you haven't read any of these, I strongly suggest you get the entire series. If you can't do that, at least get the first one!
What movies, television shows, plays, etc. did I watch this month?
I watched Moonstruck, Burn Notice, Iron Chef America, and Pee Wee's Big Adventure. How's that for an eclectic mix? I don't think we watched any Mythbusters this month, but we did do our regular Disney Channel shows and we also watched Wipeout, which is pretty silly.
What fun things did I do with my family and/or friends?
I went to an overnight crop with a bunch of digi scrappers hosted by Designer Digitals. I went out to lunch with my college roommate, so fun to catch up with her! My family went to a baseball game (The Bees) and we had fun evening at Boondocks miniature golfing and riding go-karts. We visited my hubby's Grandmother. My daughter went to Girls camp for 3 days. Hubby and I were invited out to dinner with some old friends and we ate at the Hong Kong Teahouse which was located next to a male strip club.(we didn't go in there!) We went to a neighborhood barbeque party and also had a movie night with some friends. My neighbor (who is half Mexican) taught several ladies in the neighborhood how to make authentic Mexican food. Everything was so delicious! My hubby also traveled to Chicago for business. It ended up to be a pretty busy month!
What gifts did I give and/or receive?
We gave a wedding gift to a young couple in our neighborhood who got married.
What special or unusual purchases did I make?
My daughter got new braces so that was a big purchase. I bought a few clothes for the kids but I really haven't done any "back to school" shopping. That is one of the great benefits of homeschooling!
What illnesses or health concerns did I have?
We were all quite healthy in August. My hubby was also able to work through a running injury that has been plaguing him since June which was a great relief. Took both of my kids to the dentist and no one had any cavities!
What were my accomplishments this month?
In preparation for our new school year, I freshened up and photographed our homeschool studio. I wrote a guest article on my Power Scrapping Secrets that was featured on The Daily Digi. Joined Hillary Heidelberg's Creative Team. Started walking again and getting more exercise - feels good! I also blogged every day.
I completed 20 digital scrapbook layouts in August
Have you done your roundup yet? You don't have to include pictures and links like I have, just take a few minutes to look over the past month and jot down a few details. You will be so glad you did!
