Today's Memory Monday prompt is to write or scrapbook about where your family lives. Do you still live with them, or close by? Does your family live in another state or country? Many times people grow up and move away from their family. In my case, the opposite happened. Five years ago my parents moved from Utah (where they had lived for more than 30 years) to New Mexico because of a job change. At the time, my brother was going to school in Texas. He ended up in New Mexico about a year ago because of a job change as well. Now I'm the only one left in Utah from my family.
This weekend I've been visiting my parents and one of my brothers (the other one is currently in Fresno, California for a few more months). We've had a great time just hanging out and enjoying each other. One of my favorite things we did over the weekend was going to a Mexican Market.
It was such a fun and colorful place.
Such pretty pastries!
My brother was pleased over his pork rinds purchase, but my daughter was a little grossed out.
We ate lunch right there in the market.
yummy tamales!
Delicious drinks all made fresh on the spot.
pork rinds!
fresh tortillas - they were still warm in the packages.
peppers
more peppers
even more peppers
anyone want some peppers?
Did I mention that they had some peppers?

The fun thing about having your family live far away is that you get to visit and get away from your daily routine. The hard thing is that this doesn't happen very often. I hadn't seen my brother since last Thanksgiving so it was really good to catch up with him. I never thought I would end up going 10 months or even a year without seeing my own brother, but I guess that is what happens when the miles between you increase. The nice thing is that we still talk on the phone each Sunday and we often email each other as well. Thank goodness for technology!

I hope you will take a few minutes of time to write about where your family lives and how you feel about that.
