this was part of my screensaver for the month of April. I got it from the Weeds n Wildflowers blog. I just downloaded the May desktop.
This is my roundup for the month of April
What books and/or magazines did I read this month?
Not a ton of reading this month. Actually, I did do a lot of reading but most of it was in textbooks for our homeschool program. I have several big stacks of books waiting for me in various places around my house. I'm hoping to get back to reading more in May. I did look through several of my old scrapbooking magazines but that is about it.
What movies, television shows, plays, etc. did I watch this month?
We watched several Utah Jazz NBA games on tv and we even went to 2 actual games! We saw games against the L.A. Clippers and the Golden State Warriors. We lost to the Warriors but we beat the Clippers. We also got the royal treatment at the Clippers game! We got invited to the "100 Club" package deal that night because of a business association my husband has. We got to watch the players shoot around, get their autographs, and even have our pictures professionally taken with Kyle Korver. We were star-struck all night. I think this photo of my son getting his jersey signed by Coach Jerry Sloan tells it all.
The Jazz mascot (Bear) signed our shirts and even signed my daughter's forehead. With a permanent Sharpie pen! It did wash off though. It was an amazing experience that was truly one of those "once in a lifetime" kind of things. I can't believe I haven't scrapbooked it yet!
In other entertainment news, we went to the Hannah Montana movie which we liked. I'm such a sap that I even cried when she and Billy Ray sang their special Daddy-Daughter song! I watched the usual Disney Channel shows with my kids, Mythbusters, and LOST. Not much variation for me there. We also went to Monsters vs. Aliens which was fun
We didn't go see any plays... but we were actually in a play! We have been rehearsing since late January and April was so full of rehearsals that it filled up almost all of our free time. I'm amazed that we still found time for a few Jazz games and family events. It was a really neat experience though and we learned so much about what it is like to be in an actual theater production. We also made a lot of new friends. I even made costumes for me and my daughter. I actually am wearing a hairpiece so I could have a bun on my head. Terrible photo of me, but a cute one of my daughter in her pioneer dress.
What fun things did I do with my family and/or friends?
I already mentioned several fun things that happened in our family in the month of April. We also had an egg hunt with my in-laws for Easter Sunday, my brother had a birthday and so did my father-in-law, and I spent a day at the zoo with my kids.
What illnesses or health concerns did I have?
Somehow I was able to stay pretty healthy in April which is amazing considering that my son had bronchitis and an ear infection, and my daughter had an ear infection as well. I was sure that I was coming down with something several times, but I was able to fight it off. My son started seeing a different psychiatrist this month because the doctor we have seen for the last 7 years retired from practice. That was a big change for us, but hopefully it is a good one.
What were my accomplishments this month?
Um, I think surviving the month was a pretty big accomplishment! It was a seriously busy month for us.
