I never really feel quite ready for the new month until I have done my roundup for the month that just ended.
What books and/or magazines did I read this month?
I feel like I got back into reading in March. Don't get me wrong, I read a ton every month, especially with homeschooling my kids, but I felt like I was able to enjoy reading in a new way this past month. If you want to read my detailed reviews just click on the image for each book.
What movies, television shows, plays, etc. did I watch this month?
I watched a lot of movies this month and even went to a play! I really enjoyed all of these.
I also went to the Jonas Brothers movie with my kids which was pretty fun, and I watched several Disney Channel shows and movies as usual. We had the wonderful opportunity to see a production of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night performed at the Salt Lake Community College as part of the Utah Shakespeare Festival's educational tour. It was wonderful!
What fun things did I do with my family and/or friends?
March is a month of celebrations for me because both my birthday and wedding anniversary are in March. I turned 40 this year! Hubby and I celebrated our 18th Wedding Anniversary. Actually, we never did celebrate it yet because we were too busy, but we still plan to do something one of these days.
We spent a large amount of time at play rehearsals. All 4 of us are in a church play that will take place in April so we have been putting in a lot of time on that. We have enjoyed the time together and also made some great new friends. We also had an entire week off of school for spring break. It was a wonderful and much needed week!
We had a great time one night having a rootbeer tasting party and we even made a rootbeer cake. Recipe, test results, and scrapbook page coming soon!
What gifts did I give and/or receive?
I ordered this new Nikon lens with my some of my birthday money. I'm really excited to try it out!
I actually have some more money from my hubby to spend but I haven't figured out what I want to do with it yet. Isn't that silly?! Hubby did get me roses and took me out to lunch and dinner for my birthday. We haven't done anything for each other for our anniversary yet due to lack of time. We will probably buy a new mattress because we really need one.
What special or unusual purchases did I make?
Hmmmm.... can't think of anything. I've been trying to buy healthier food so I guess that counts for something.
What illnesses or health concerns did I have?
Not too much in this area. I think I got really sick to my stomach 2 days in March which is actually pretty good for me. I'm still trying to figure out what makes me so ill. I've cut out a lot of foods but I'm suspicious of dairy at this point, even though I eat/drink very little of it.
What were my accomplishments this month?
I actually just feel pretty good about getting through the month! We had so much school work to do before we went on break that I almost went a little crazy! It took me the full week of spring break to feel like I was going to make it! I was without my computer for the first 11 days of the month so that also drove me batty and cut my scrapbooking and digital designing way down for the month.
I re-designed my blog (I'm actually still working on it!) and I think it turned out pretty neat. I did some crafts with my daughter and I even got invited to go to New York for the Martha Stewart Craft Encyclopedia Book launch show! I had to miss it, but it was a BIG honor for me to be invited!
In addition to everything else I've had going on, I've been taking Candice Stringham's amazing class on photography. It has been such a great learning experience for me! I feel like I have learned so much and I'm finally understanding how to use my Nikon D40 camera. It takes some time and patience to get through the class work, but it is so worth it!
I did manage to scrap a few pages in March despite my computer woes and over-scheduled calendar:
Have you done your roundup?
