Today's Memory Monday challenge is to pick one word and let it inspire you to create a scrapbook page.
I've mentioned before that I love to follow Ali Edwards' lead in picking one word to guide me through each year. I was thrilled to see that the Hodge Podge Challenge last week was about scrapping your one word and so I took the challenge and created this page.
Journaling reads:
I picked my one word for 2009; the word that will guide me and keep me on track. The word I chose is “learn” because I feel like this will help me grow in new and important ways. If I’m learning, I will be teaching, and that is a bit part of my life right now as my children’s home school learning coach. I want to be learning along with them. I’m enjoying history, science, literature, and several other subjects in ways I never have before. We are seeing the world through field trips, books, and travel. I am excited to learn about my computer, my camera, cross-stitching, sewing, and many other creative interests. Photography is a passion I want to delve into. I’m excited to learn more about digital designing. I hope to learn more about the most important roles in my life of being a wife, a mother, and a good human being. I guess I just want to learn everything I possibly can this year!

When I sat down to create this page all I had to inspire me was one word. I took the word "learn" and thought about how I could illustrate it and what I would want to say about that particular word. It was a really fun approach to take. So pick a word that inspires you (it doesn't have to be a word that you chose for the year or anything). Looking through this list of words people have chosen for the Ali Edwards challenge should be a great starting point if you are short on ideas.
*edited to add - I just found this blog called One Little Word (OLW) which uses this same idea for prompts all the time. Great resource!
