I've noticed that many scrappers and bloggers are all gearing up to do the photo 365 project in 2009. I participated in this in 2008 and actually did it ALL YEAR long (go me!) I still have some pictures to upload to my flickr account but soon they will all be posted in this album.
As an "alumni" of this project, I thought it might be helpful for me to point out a few tips and resources.
- This is a LONG term project and I noticed that many people dropped out about mid-January or early February. It is easy to miss a day or a few days and then just give up. Don't! Just take a few "make-up" photos that represent those days and get back on the horse. No one is going to know or even care. There are no Photo 365 police out there, the project is for YOU and the important thing is that you end up with a collection of photographs that represent your year. That is what's cool about this!
- Keep up on uploading your pictures. Put an album on your hard drive, on your blog, or in an online home like flickr so you can see your collection grow. It will give you momentum when you want to give up.
- Find fun ways to display your photos each month. Collect these layouts and put them in an album and you will have a whole year of memories collected before you know it. You might even enjoy framing these for your house or office, or at least displaying them on your blog each month. I designed some layered templates (and png files) that work perfectly for this. There are versions for a 28 day, 29 day, 30 day and a 31 day month included so you will always have the perfect template for a month's worth of photos.

- My last bit of advice is a big one and that is to be creative with what you are photographing. Try to vary your pictures each day and make them representative of something that happened that day. My biggest "A-HA" moment on this didn't come until week 51 of 2008 when someone suggested that my own Amazing Month of Memories files would be the perfect companion to this! Why didn't I think of that?! So you can bet that I'm trying the photo 365 with a whole new amazing twist in 2009.
