Day 19 of my 24 days of Holiday Inspiration series
We've never been ones to get new pajamas for Christmas. I always felt a bit envious of those who had it together enough (both in the planning and the financial departments) to have packages of brand new pjs ready for everyone to open on Christmas Eve. I've gotten over it though and realized that it really doesn't matter. I have been thinking about Christmas morning though and I realized that my kids really needed some new pajamas if there was any chance I was going to snap some pictures of them! So today I bought them both new jammies and gave them to them as early gifts.
Why not on Christmas Eve you ask? Perhaps part of my Christmas Eve pajama gift issue stems from a memory of sleeping in a brand new itching nightgown one Christmas Eve? I didn't get pjs each year as a gift, but there were a few years that I did. I know I remember one of the nightgowns having a very itchy lace around the collar and feeling obligated to sleep in it As if it isn't hard enough to sleep on Christmas Eve already!
I decided to give the pj gifts today so we would have time to wash the jammies and do some test runs in them. Maybe this all seems strange, but I'm actually pretty happy about how it turned out. They all fit perfectly so there is no need to return anything, but I would have had time to do so if needed.
So do yourself a favor and get the pj situation figured out ASAP. Otherwise, you might feel tempted to hide the camera on Christmas morning and this Scrapbook Lady thinks that would be a shame!
I can't buy my kids fuzzy little footy jammies anymore though since they are 15 and 12. Well, I guess I could... but I don't think they would wear them. And I'm pretty sure my hubby would never forgive me if I made him wear these footed penguin pajamas! But if you have a family that is willing to get festive with their holiday sleepwear, have some fun taking photos of them! And don't you love that the dog or cat can get in on it also? There really are a lot of cute pjs at this Snug as a Bug site but I'm getting a real giggle imagining what would happen if I suggested we all wear fuzzy footed penguin pjs! I think I could pull it off though. It might be a good look for me!
Of course I still think Ralphie wins for the best Christmas pajamas!
