So here's my roundup for March:
What books and/or magazines did I read this month?
I read Bound on Earth by Angela Hallstrom (who also happens to be a friend of mine). I was hesitant to read a book written by a friend because what would I say if I didn't like it? Fortunately, I didn't have to worry about that because it truly was a very enjoyable read! She has a very unique writing style and I really like the approach she took in telling the bits and pieces of the story and letting the reader piece it together.
Other reading for the month of March: Family Fun Magazine, Better Homes and Gardens Magazine, Digital Scrapbooking Magazine and Diamondback Cave with my kids.
What movies and/or tv shows did I watch this month?
LOST! Hubby and I have so much fun watching it each weekend. We buy each episode on itunes and watch it on Friday or Saturday night because he usually has meetings on Thursday night anyway. Now we are going through withdrawals though until new episodes start back up again at the end of April.
Not much else... a few episodes of Mythbusters, 3rd Rock from the Sun and a Planet Earth or two.
What special days did I celebrate and how?
Well, I got totally spoiled on my birthday! Went out to dinner at Ruth's Chris and I got a new camera and breakfast in bed. We also celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary by going out to dinner at Zinn Bistro.
What illnesses or health concerns did I have?
A nasty sinus infection.
What fun things did I do with my friends and/or family?
March was a pretty busy month overall and I got to do several fun things. I went to 2 church/neighborhood parties and brought desserts to both of them. We toured the State Capitol with a homeschool group and went to the Beehive House on another field trip. My son earned his Citizenship in the Nation merit badge so we went to a court of honor with the scout troop. Another great event was an overnight business trip with my hubby to stay in the Grand America hotel (a 5 star hotel). My Mom was in town so she stayed with the kids. Oh, and my Mom being in town was a fun thing as well - lots of shopping, eating, and just enjoying time together.
What new foods, recipes or restaurants did I try this month?
Pioneer Woman’s Chicken Spaghetti casserole (tasty). I also found a yummy dessert recipe that I will have to share here soon. I also ate out a lot this month because of our special occassions and my Mom's visit. I tried several new restaurants so that was fun.
What special or unusual purchases did I make?
Well, I did get a new camera for my birthday... I may have mentioned that already! LOL!
What were this month's disappointments?
It was a good month. Wish it could have been a little warmer but I guess I can't expect San Diego when I live in Utah! San Diego does sound good though.
What were my accomplishments this month?
I'm happy to say that I did get the majority of my March projects done so I'm feeling really good about that. I also ate healthy for almost 2 full weeks of the month which was quite an accomplishment with everything I had going on. Of course I totally have blown that in the last week, but I can get back on track now - or at least once cupcake week is over! LOL!
I'm really pleased with my new designs and templates and I still have a freebie available if you missed it before - just go to this post!
I love doing roundups because it forces me to look back on the month and find things that I did actually accomplish. I usually surprise myself when I realize that I accomplished a lot more than I originally thought I did.
