Farewell to March! Time to do my roundup
What books and/or magazines did I read this month?
I read this little book about blogging
nothing earth shattering in this book, but it does have some good ideas to make a blog enjoyable for others to read. I thought it would be good to look through it since I want to keep this blog fresh and fun!
:::
What movies and/or tv shows did I watch this month?
Lost Season One (we are halfway through season 2) - LOVE this show!
also watched Mythbusters with hubby and the kids, our favorite episode was the dog episode.
We bought and watched Happy Feet on DVD and went to see Meet the Robinsons in the theater. The kids really enjoyed both of those.
What special days did I celebrate and how?
My birthday! Hubby took me to Nordstrom for lunch. Then my kids got sick :(
Our 16th Wedding Anniversary. We got to spend the night at the Grand America Hotel for a work retreat for hubby so we had a very nice Anniversary getaway. On top of all that, my Mom watched the kids while we went to Tuscany for dinner - yummy!
What gifts did I give and/or receive?
ipod nano in silver and a memorex clock radio that I can dock my ipod into - very cool!
What illnesses or health concerns did I have?
My daughter and I both had sinus infections and she also had an ear infection. My son had walking pneumonia. Amazingly, my hubby didn't get sick at all. A lot of antibiotics this month - yuck!
What fun things did I do with my friends and/or family?
My Dad came to visit for a few days and we had a very nice time with him. My Mom and youngest brother came for a visit at the end of the month. We had a great time with them also and did a TON of shopping!
Hubby and I went to a neighborhood party and they played the newleywed game there. Guess who lost? Yep, we did - lol!
I also went to ladies night activity so it was nice to get to know some more of our neighbors this month.
What new foods, recipes or restaurants did I try this month?
For our anniversary dinner at Tuscany I had the most delicious entree I've had in a long time, it was some sort of pulled pork meatloaf with garlic mashed potatoes and a berry sauce. Sounds unusual but it was sooooo good!
I didn't try a lot of other "new" places or foods, but I did eat very differently since we had out of town guests for 11 days out of the month and so many holidays to celebrate. I went to Hires, Shivers, Market Street, Cafe Rio, Bajio Grill, Nordstrom, Tuscany, Grand America Breakfast Buffet, Panda Express, and Applebees. Needless to say... Weight Watchers took a serious hit this month. I'm not sure when I have ever eaten out so much! Time to get back "on the wagon" now with healthy eating and cooking.
What special or unusual purchases did I make?
We really partied it up by buying this...
We got a great deal at Costco and we decided to go for it. We have actually only bought 2 small tvs in our married life, we have been lucky enough to inherit hand me downs from my parents for the rest of them. I never thought I would be that into a tv, but I have to say that this one is amazing. We love to watch LOST on it after the kids go to bed. I also got a new cell phone! I've been stuck in a bad cell phone contract for the last few years so I went with a pay as you go phone which is perfect for me. I don't use my cell phone very much, I just like to have it for safety reasons mainly.
and guess what my ring tone is? The Pirates of the Caribbean ride theme song! lol!
What were this month's disappointments?
I think the sickness that went around the house was the only real dissapointment.
What were my accomplishments this month?
I know I accomplished a lot this month but I sort of feel like I didn't accomplish as much as I usually do. I think having houseguests and sick kids is a pretty good excuse for a little drop in productivity. I am very pleased with my papers - all 120 of them! And I completed 13 digital layouts - not as many as I usually do, but that is ok, it isn't all about quantity.
Anything else noteworthy to record?
Hubby went to Boston for a week and brought us all back Harvard sweatshirts. This is the greatest photo but I will share it anyway.
Hope you had a great March. Don't forget to do your roundup!
