What books and/or magazines did I read this month?
I really wanted to read a lot this month, but I didn’t do much because I spent all of my spare time reading things that had to do with homeschooling my son. Now I have a huge stack waiting for me on my night table that I am vowing to get to in September!
What movies and/or tv shows did I watch this month?
I watched a lot of episodes of Dragon Fly TV with my kids and also the Eyes of Nye (Bill Nye) Again, my life was heavily influenced by homeschooling, but I do honestly enjoy both of these shows!
What special days did I celebrate and how?
No birthdays in our family this month. We did celebrate Madden Holiday for the boys – new Madden football game released.
What illnesses or health concerns did I have?
Started on a mild cold but fought it off with the help of airborne. I swear I say this every month, but at least I haven’t been getting sick!
What fun things did I do with my friends and/or family? I had a very fun and busy month in August! A night up the canyon with my in-laws A neighborhood movie night outside. We watched Chicken Little
Tim McGraw and Faith Hill concert
this was an amazing concert! I wasn't even a fan and I ended up loving it. Now I have a lot of Tim McGraw on my iPod. My favorites are Real Good Man, Down on the Farm, Something like That, My Next 30 Years, Skydiving, and It's Your Love (with Faith Hill)
And we went on vacation to the Shakespeare Festival in Cedar City, Utah. We just love going there. I have even been to the Shakespeare Festival in Stratford upon Avon which is Shakespeare land, and I enjoy this one more! Yep, right in little old Cedar City, Utah! It's a gem and they have even won a Tony Award for theater. I will be working on some Shakespeare layouts soon.
What special or unusual purchases did I make?
We paid $2000. for the sheetrock work in the 2 rooms in our basement so that seems like a pretty major purchase to me! I also got a new Dyson vacuum which I can't believe how much it cost, but it is awesome! We bought the DC 14 Drive model.
What were my accomplishments this month?
I feel like I had a very successful month in August. Lots of designing and writing which are both things that I enjoy so much.
Sucesses:
created 19 digital layouts
wrote an article that was published in the inagural issue of the Digi Shop Talk Newsletter
wrote feature articles for my blog on scraplifting, fonts, flowers, & stripes - and I designed a freebie for the stripe article.
contributed to the Travel Collaborative Kit at A Cherry on Top
Designed 4 papers packs and 4 photo sets for my new "Everyday Joys" line
Wrote the September issue of An Amazing Month of Memories
This is why I love the roundup tool - I didn't realize I was able to accomplish so much in the month of August! I was feeling like I didn't get much done because I was focusing on all that I did not get done (weeds, basement, weight loss etc.) and I was so busy with the kids that I had less time to spend on my "stuff" - but in reality, I still found the time to do some good things and I deserve a pat on the back for that.
You know what? You do too! So sit down and do a roundup for August and/or commit to do one for September. The same set of questions can be used to help you set goals for this month as well.
