Some months it seems a bit like a chore to sit down and do this, but I'm always soooo glad when it is done. I know these are details I would forget if I didn't take a few minutes to round them up.
Have you done your roundup yet?
I'm still working on some of the tasks and truthfully, I don't do all of them each month. But I still like to review the list because I think it really helps me stay organized.
What books and/or magazines did I read this month?
I created a list of books I have read so far this year using the amazon listmania tool. This will be a fun way for me to keep track of the books I read. You can see it anytime by clicking on this picture in my blog sidebar.
In July I read Two Little Girls in Blue by Mary Higgins Clark and You the Smart Patient. Did tons of reading with my kids also.
What movies and/or tv shows did I watch this month?
Pirates of the
Caribbean - fun movie and Captain Jack!
Monster House - we DID NOT like this movie!
What special days did I celebrate and how?
Had a birthday party for my hubby on July 1st
What illnesses or health concerns did I have?
1 or 2 days of a minor cold
What fun things did I do with my friends and/or family?
Went on vacation to Albuquerque,New Mexico. Visited my parents and 2 brothers. We went on several excursions (atomic museum, children’s museum,University
of New Mexico, Nob Hill, OldTown and had a lot of fun
Played with my kids and went out to lunch once with my husband.
What new foods, recipes or restaurants did I try this month?
I got pretty good at grilling steaks. I read an article that said you should hardly handle the meat at all and only turn it once while grilling if possible. Then I asked the butcher to show me how to pick out good ribeye steaks (gotta have some fat in them to make them good.) Now I’m not even much of a meat lover, but I have to say that I can cook a pretty dang good steak now. My son says they are “heavenly!"
We also tried some new and yummy foods during our trip to New MexicoI got addicted to these delicious Mexican sodas (straight from Mexico) that are made with real sugar and not high fructose corn syrup – yum! Of course we ate a lot of green chilies (they are on everything there!)
What special or unusual purchases did I make?
I really didn’t buy much this month. Mostly basics. Good for the budget but boring for the blog.
What were this month’s disappointments?
Had a few this month. The sheetrockers made a mistake on a wall in our basement so we had to call in our framer to save the day since no one else could seem to figure it out (wasn’t that complicated) and in the meantime our drywall guy took on another job. So our basement hasn’t been touched almost all month. Nothing has happened and we just have the mess to look at until the middle of August.
What were my accomplishments this month?
Some good accomplishments this month. I published the August issue of An Amazing Month of Memories and contributed to the SUNKISSED Collaborative kit at A Cherry on Top.
I created 30 digital layouts (woo hoo!) – you can see them in my sidebar photo album or look through my 2Peas gallery.
I participated in Miss Mint’s contest and although I didn’t win anything, I really enjoyed it and I feel like it helped me improve my scrapbooking skills.
Did the 12 for 12 challenge.span>
Published 2 blog articles; one on digi scrapping and one on doodles.
I organized 2 years worth of pictures in photo albums. Only a zillion more to go - LOL!
Anything else noteworthy to record?
I began homeschooling my son full time in July. This has been a big lifestyle change for all of us, but it has been going really well so far. Because of this new phase in my life I needed to cut back on some other commitments so I did resign all of the creative teams I was on. I will miss the free stuff for sure but I have made some great friends that I know I will hang on to.
